Black Metal: A sub-genre of Heavy Metal music that uses screamed Satanic lyrics, fast guitar playing and drumming, and heavy distorted sounds with a focus on Satanic imagery and occult themes.
Many might argue with my opinion concerning Black Metal but I don't really care, its my educated opinion and so not everything might be completely accurate. If you have any complaints, please reach my secretary at 1-800-EATSHITANDDIE
If Norway was the womb that birthed Black Metal in all its glory, Venom was the seed that put it all into motion. Some various bands decided to take heavy metal to a whole new level and include Satan, Lucifer, hell, blood, sacrifice, darkness, damnation, apostasy, anathema, etc. in just about every lyrical line.
So from what I've gathered, around the 1980's, some youth in many parts of Europe were a bit tired of living in a rather well rounded society with no real significant flaws in the education system or the economy. So instead of living the monotone everyday life of toil and routine, some kids decided to play it rough and spew their filth upon the populace, instigating mayhem and pandemonium wherever they may find it.
Most of this wave took place in the "satanic panic", during which many youth were suspected of worshiping the devil even though most accusations were false...most...
This was a day when Dungeons and Dragons players were considered human sacrificing heretics, committing the occasional blood orgy and performing your everyday sacrilegious incantations, with no regard towards anything such as morality. Those were the good old days.
Few are aware of the significance Black Metal held in its day, believing it is nothing more than a simple unpopular music genre of poor taste and these people are what i like to call : Wrong. So there you have it, a small sample that but scratches the surface of all the chunks of vile knowledge and dread that compose the entity known as Black Metal and there is much more where that came from.
For our first audio sample, we have 'Burn in Hell' by none other than Venom, taken from their album entitled 'Metal Black'.
Good Day.
